EC Festival of Wales:
Ecological Citizenship for the Future
Gŵyl Cymru: Dinasyddiaeth Ecolegol ar gyfer y Dyfodol
25.11.25
Reflecting on the present and exploring the future of ecological citizenship in Wales. A creative, collaborative and celebratory day of dialogue!
Myfyrio ar y presennol ac archwilio dyfodol dinasyddiaeth ecolegol yng Nghymru. Diwrnod creadigol, cydweithredol a dathliadol o ddeialog.
Achieving a sustainable transition requires a stronger shift to a more people-centred, culturally-celebratory and hyper-local approach: “place is the foundation stone of individual and collective life...” (Madgin and Robson, 2023). The Ecological Citizen(s) Network+ Project has been seeking to explore the role of ecological citizenship for the future of Wales. Ecological Citizenship is an evolving practice that emphasises the importance of place, communities, equity and power to work towards a just, ecological and sustainable transition.
We warmly invite you to an EC Festival of Wales to celebrate transitions for social and system transformations for an alternative future.
Rydym yn eich gwahodd yn gynnes i Ŵyl Ddinasyddiaeth Ecolegol Cymru i ddathlu trawsnewidiadau DE ar gyfer trawsnewidiadau cymdeithasol a system.

The EC Festival:
Ecological Citizenship in Action
18.09.25
We had such a wonderful, creative, collaborative day with you all, exploring Ecological Citizenship in Action at the Museum of Making in Derby.
The EC festival was a creative, collaborative gathering for artists, scientists, designers, community leaders, researchers, activists and others who are asking: What does it mean to be an ecological citizen today?
We explored this through the theme “EC in action” - focusing on real, grounded practices of ecological citizenship. Through workshops, conversations, food and shared creativity, we’ll celebrate what’s working, uncover new ideas, and build tools and relationships.
📅 Thursday 18th September 2025, from 10:00 - 16:30 (arrive from 9:30)
📍 The Museum of Making, Silk Mill Lane, Derby DE1 3AF
